Deep within the red-light districts of Mumbai lies a complex web of "unseen chains." Every year, thousands of women and young girls are forced into this world through deception and violence, stripped of their most basic human rights.
The true tragedy is the generational cycle of entrapment. Bound by the invisible shackles of social stigma and systemic isolation, many find no path to the outside world. Children born into this environment often follow the same predestined path, as tragedy becomes their only 'ordinary' reality.
Through my photography, I seek to gaze upon these invisible shackles. By bringing their muffled voices from the darkness into the light, I aim to bear witness to the human dignity that refuses to be erased.
