In the harrowing shadows of the civil war in Myanmar, I confronted a reality that defied traditional methods of documentation. My work goes beyond merely capturing scenes of destruction; it is an inquiry into the human condition under extreme structural violence and the depth of the scars left upon memory. There, I met those who had lost their families, their homes, and the very foundations of their lives—people dwelling in a silence heavier than death itself.
The reality of their struggle is gradually fading from the consciousness of the international community. During my final moments with them, I asked: “May I share your story with the world?” With a desperate nod, they pleaded for their existence to be known before they were completely erased.
This project is my response to that promise.
‘Unheard Voices’ is a testament to those who cannot be heard, and a bridge between isolated suffering and global awareness. These photographs are a record of human dignity, maintained until the very end by those who refuse to be forgotten.
